Learning is central to all we do at Patchway Community School and this is not limited to the classroom.
Students are able to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities that give them the chance to develop skills and interests as well as work alongside other students.
Activities take place at various times of the day, including before school, lunch and at the end of the college day. Lunchtime provision includes equipment and facilities being made available for physical activity.
Students enjoy an extensive range of activities and most are open to all. Some take the form of regular clubs whilst others may provide more one-off opportunities. Many will offer the additional incentive of being externally recognised and certificated.
As well as teachers, students can, and have, run their own clubs with staff supervision. In addition, external providers may come in and be able to offer additional opportunities. We have many partnerships and links with external groups and students can very often continue with the activity undertaken in college at another venue and level. Staff will be able to direct students to external clubs and groups in order for them to further develop the skills and interests.
