Patchway Community School

Careers Introduction

Patchway Community School endeavours to provide all students with the right information, education, advice and guidance to make informed decisions about their future. Students in all years have dedicated careers-focussed PSHE lessons at least once a term. In school, sessions and assemblies are offered throughout the year with specialists, professionals and providers and relevant visits are also planned. Students in Year 11 are invited  to 1:1 guidance sessions with a Level 6 qualified careers advisor for support in choosing and applying for their next steps. Guidance is also offered to students in Year 9 as they pick their GCSE Pathways. Students in Year 10 have the opportunity to undertake work experience in term 3.

We work with a number of partner organisations in the local area and are committed to developing our relationships with the business community even further. We would love to hear from you if you would like to offer any careers support to the school from your own industry. Our current partners include:

Patchway Community School is committed to fulfilling its obligation to the Provider Access Legislation. To read more about this, please refer to the Careers Policy.

We would love to hear from former students about their study and career journey once they left school. Who better to show Patchway students what they can achieve than others who have sat in the same classrooms?  If you were a student here, or know anyone who was, please get in touch. Here is an example of what we are trying to create, with kind permission from our lovely ex-student Bev
